St. Ignatius and St. Luke's collaborate with an active chapter of this venerable charitable society.
The Ladies of Charity were founded in 17th century France by St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac. The seeds sown by these two heroes of charity have grown into a worldwide ministry for social justice, with 420,000 members in 43 countries. The volunteers of this charitable body are recognized throughout the world as champions of the poor and underprivileged. St. Luke's is the home of Knights of Columbus St. John Fisher Council #16499.
In conjunction with the Knights from St. Columbkille councils, a council that serves St. Ignatius and St. Columba's Churches in Oxon Hill, our parish supports a variety of ministries aimed at the parish and the community.
Membership is open to men at least 18 years of age, who are in union with the Holy See, accept the teaching authority of the Catholic Church, and are members in good standing of the Church.
