His Excellency Archbishop Wilton Gregory (of the Archdiocese of Washington) has appointed Fr. John Vidal as administrator of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Fort Washington/Oxon Hill, Maryland. This duty comes in addition to his responsibility as pastor of St. Luke’s Catholic Church. His Excellency’s intention with this appointment is that St. Luke’s will join St. Ignatius and finally arrive at a permanent home after losing their church facilities in Bladensburg. Though Fr. Vidal’s assignment is effective July 10, 2019, the parish of St. Luke’s will not arrive in Oxon Hill until early September, in time for the fall semester of Christian Formation.
